Prometheus Labs – LMS Overview

This course provides hands-on experience with Prometheus, focusing on monitoring, metrics collection, and alerting for modern cloud-native and DevOps environments. It is designed to help learners understand how observability fits into system reliability and production operations.

Learners will begin with Prometheus fundamentals, including architecture, time-series data, metrics types, exporters, and the Prometheus query language (PromQL). The course then progresses into configuring scrape targets, service discovery, and managing metrics storage.

Through practical labs and real-world scenarios, learners will practice monitoring applications and infrastructure, creating dashboards, writing PromQL queries, and configuring alerts using Alertmanager. Learners will also explore integrating Prometheus with Kubernetes, cloud services, and third-party exporters.

The course covers best practices for monitoring strategy, alerting design, and performance optimization, as well as troubleshooting common monitoring issues. Learners will gain practical exposure to production-ready monitoring and observability workflows.

By the end of this course, learners are expected to confidently deploy and operate Prometheus, analyze system and application metrics, and implement effective monitoring and alerting solutions, preparing them for real-world DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
